Next to the grand A State of Trance 550 world tour kicking off in March, Armin has made it one of his personal goals to get more women to work in the dance industry. The Dutch DJ believes that the future of dance will involve a much bigger female influence. The biggest edition of the A State of Trance tour, taking place on March 31st in the Brabanthallen of Den Bosch, will include a female-only stage. Not just the DJ’s and singers, but also the entire tech crew are female.

Armin explains why he feels that the dance scene of today could really use a more female touch:
”Women have a great taste in music and some can DJ pretty good. I’m still surprised that most of today’s dance music scene is ruled by men only and I’m not the only one sharing that opinion. It’s been a long time frustration that out of the 100 most popular DJ’s, only a few are female. And we all know there’s no atmosphere without women in the crowd! If you scare away the women, you can be pretty sure you’ll scare away the men as well. So I’ve decided to dedicate a whole stage to female DJ’s and artists only. Even the VJ, MC and stage-manager have to be female. You will see this will bring a special atmosphere.  It would be a great thing if at least 15% of the DJ MAG top 100 in 2013 are female!”

On March 31st, the premier of the first all female stage will take place at the Brabanthallen, Den Bosch during the A State of Trance 550 world tour 2012.

The Dutch DJ/producer, currently preparing for his extensive ASOT 550 world tour, received 7 nominations for the International Dance Music Awards!

Armin, who won 6 of the prestigious awards last year, is now in the running for winning the awards for ‘Best European DJ’, ‘Best Global DJ’ and ‘Best Producer’, as well as ‘Best Radio Mix Show DJ’ and ‘Best Podcast’ for his A State of Trance show , ‘Best Full Length DJ Mix’ for the A State of Trance 2011 & Universal Religion Chapter 5 compilation and ‘Best Trance Track’ with his Nadia Ali collaboration ‘Feels So Good’.  Armada Music, the record label of which Armin is the co-founder, is nominated for ‘Best Global Record Label’ for the fourth year in a row.

Artem Panteleev and Arthur Kulyukin have been binding their strengths and sharing ideas since 2005, resulting in a few impressive release under their A.T.M. moniker. In 2011, they started another one: Monada. After the success of ‘Sunny Day’, the duo hits the right spot with the energetic but sensitive touch of ‘Turbulance’ and uplifting feel of ‘Meteoric’. The Noord Nederlands Orchestra played a special concert, dedicated to no one less than Armin van Buuren. They made special classical arrangements of Armin’s biggest hits and it was one of the few times that the visitors got our of their chairs and started dancing. More than 100.000 people tuned into the the live-stream of the night. And guess what? The Orchestra is going to do it all over again!

Due to the tremendous success, NNO decided to take the tribute in reprise and present another night. Esspecially for this concert, they made two new arrangements, of Armin’s ‘This Light Between Us’ and ‘Not Giving Up On Love’.  On February 23rd, ‘A Tribute To Armin van Buuren’ strikes down in the Oosterport venue in Groningen once again. All chairs will be removed, and supported by a spectacular laser and sound program, the classical concert will turn into a real dance event.

From the warm flow of ‘Nova’ to ‘Venice Beach’, ‘Promised’ and Robert Nickson collabs ‘Rewire’ and ‘Liberate’, Daniel Kandi has come a long way since making his grand debut with ‘Breathe’. Remixes for Above & Beyond, Gareth Emery, Sebastian Brandt and Sunny Lax have made the Kandi sound hot property.

By the sounds of it, Daniel had a pretty good horoscope for the day he produced his new tune ‘Sagittarius’. First rocking the Ibiza crowds as part of Armin van Buuren’s latest ‘Universal Religion’ compilation, but now finally unleashed on the Armind label, is this melodic, dreamy trancer. An uplifting track with a deeper feel to it.
