Artist Spotlight: Acid Asian

Every artist has moments of doubt early on, what helped you stay focused and committed during your beginnings?

One of the most important moments at the beginning of my career was an email I received from Charlotte de Witte in 2021, when she opened KNTXT to receive demos. She told me she liked my tracks and wanted to sign an EP. At that moment, I knew I was on the right path. Still, moments of doubt always come back, and whenever that happens, I write my thoughts in a notebook. It really helps me to gain clarity and stay focused.

Can you tell us a bit more about your new release?

The initial idea for the track came from Fernando (WAIO), inspired by early 2000s trance, a time when electronic music felt futuristic, raw, and full of identity. From there, Super Sonic became a space for exploration and creative freedom. We tried to connect different worlds: past and future, psytrance and techno, emotion and technique. Our collaboration works because we each have a clear role in the studio. Fernando (WAIO) brings the technical side, shaped by his psytrance background, while I focus more on the construction and storytelling, tying all the ideas together. Technically, the track blends the synthetic energy of psytrance with the rhythmic solidity of techno, built around a firm, precise kick, a controlled low-end, a bouncy bassline, and minimal, industrial percussion. More than anything, it was born from a real studio connection and shared energy, which is what truly gives life and lightness to the music for us.

Looking ahead, what excites you most about where ACID ASIAN could go next?

What excites me most when I look toward the future is the growth of Acid Asian, both internationally and within Brazil. Seeing this expansion once again reassures me that I’m on the right path.
