Artist Spotlight: EQUEZE

What first inspired you to start producing electronic music?

I’ve been into music my whole life, playing guitar and piano from a young age. During the COVID period in 2021, I started getting more into electronic music. I bought a small DJ controller, and a few months later I thought, why not try making this myself? That’s when I started producing, and not long after I followed a producer course. I learned a lot there and then continued developing my sound on my own.

As a new artist, how do you approach building confidence in your own sound?

I try to focus on making original tracks within my genre, using sounds and vocals you might not expect right away. When a track starts working and gets played by other DJs, that’s a good sign I’m on the right path. It gives me extra motivation to keep creating and push my sound further.

Are there particular goals you’re setting for yourself over the coming year?

My main goal is to build more recognition as an artist. I want to be more active on social media and play at more different venues. I also want to do more collaborations with other DJs, working together helps grow your reach and keeps things creatively inspiring. Overall, I’m focused on continuing to grow and move forward.
