Artist Spotlight: Mdj try x DJ WIFI

DJ Try, how do you even process going from launching a brand new project in 2025 to playing Tiësto’s Ibiza residency and releasing on Armada within a year?

I’ve been in the music industry for a while now, but I’ve never had any projects of mine get this much traction this quickly. When I started dj try last year it was really just an escape from other work I was doing at the time. I had no expectations or assumptions that it would take me this far but I’m extremely grateful to have made music that resonates with so many people and these legendary DJs. I’m excited to see what things look like another year from now.

DJ WIFI, with your love for trance starting at 10 years old, how does it feel to now be making trance records yourself? Does it still connect to that feeling, or does it become something different when it’s your job?

It’s such a wild feeling, everything has come full circle. In the early 2000s, I listened to Trance Party compilation CDs on repeat and I was obsessed with the music and the way it made me feel. Whenever I create melodic trance tracks, I’m taken right back to that nostalgic feeling. Even though making music is my job now, that emotional connection hasn’t gone away. Honestly, it feels even more meaningful because I get to give other people the same feeling trance gave me when I was a kid.

What do you both hope people feel when they hear your song for the first time

DJ WIFI: Bringing It Back has this high energy, nostalgic feeling and I hope people lose themselves in the moment. Whether they’re at a show, dancing alone in their kitchen, or driving down the highway with friends, I hope this track gives them a sense of freedom and connection.

DJ TRY: Bringing it Back is a party song to me with a big nostalgic influence. I hope people let loose when they hear it on the dancefloor. So far that’s been the reception when I play it out.
