Artist Spotlight: Olive Anguz

You’re now releasing “Vem Comigo” with Armin van Buuren. How did this collaboration first come to life?

It actually started when Armin and I met in person. I was telling him I really wanted to create something special in Portuguese. He immediately connected with that idea and was like, “Let’s do something special together.” From there, it all came together really naturally.

When you heard the track being played live to such large crowds, what went through your mind?

It was honestly crazy hearing the track with a live crowd. When Armin van Buuren played it in Brazil, the reaction was just insane, and the crowd went absolutely off. It’s such a surreal feeling to see something you made connect with that many people and watch them all dance to it at the same time. I think more than anything, it just made me feel really grateful.

Do you feel this release opens the door to a new phase in your career, or are you focused on building steadily from here?

I think it’s a bit of both. Of course, it opens doors, and I’m really excited about that, but I’m not trying to rush anything or suddenly become something else. For me, it’s more about building my sound in a way that still feels true to me, just on a bigger scale. This release is a step, not the final destination.
