Artist Spotlight: Tai Woffinden

Before sharing your music publicly, did you have any doubts about how it would be received?
No, not at all, to be honest! Since working with James, my A&R at Armada, he’s helped me through some processes and give me great confidence, as well as having DJ support from people like Armin, Hannah Laing, Oliver Heldens, Richard Durand and many more!

What has been the most surprising or exciting part of stepping into the music world so far?
I was surprised at how kind and welcoming people have been in the scene! I come from a motorsport background where it’s dog-eat-dog! And it’s refreshing to see artists collaborating with each other and helping each other grow! I would say the highlights are obviously performing. Based on my Racing career, I’d say, the bigger the crowd and the higher the pressure, the better I perform. But jumping up on stage with HI-LO at ASOT London was super fun!

Looking ahead, do you see music becoming your main focus after your speedway career, or is it something you want to build alongside it long-term?
Short term, I’m on a mission to succeed in all I do after my near-death experience last year (due to a racing incident), I’m just taking one year at a time and making sure I live in the moment and enjoy every minute! But the next step is to find a good booking agent who wants to join my team as we head to the top.
