Artist Spotlight: UUFO
The original “Perfect” has that very specific 2008 melodic trance DNA. How much of that did you want to keep, and how was your own sound brought into this remix?
Ah, I’m in love with that era of trance music. It brings back so many great musical memories for me. I love the original, as well as Agnelli & Nelson’s remix of “Perfect”. In my version, I recreated some of the hidden gems from both the original and that remix, such as the vocal chops and some of the smaller sound details. Of course, I also wanted to bring the remix into my own modern sound so it fits naturally into my DJ sets. I’m really happy with the result, and I was proud to perform it at the A State Of Trance Festival in Warsaw a few weeks ago.
Are there any other 2000s classics on which you’d like to put a different spin?
There are so many tracks I’d love to remix. One that immediately comes to mind is “Nothing At All” by Rex Mundi and Susana.
After this release, what more can we expect from UUFO for the rest of 2026?
I’ve got some exciting collaborations in the pipeline with Omnia, Amber Revival, and 88Birds, to name a few. Stay tuned!
